Looking for a 1941 Ford tractor?
The city of Whitefish has one from bygone years that it intends to sell at a surplus auction on Saturday, along with dozens of items ranging from beds to a backhoe bucket.
The public can view the items from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot behind Whitefish City Hall, 129 Baker Ave.
The auction commences at 10 a.m. Saturday, led by Robison Auction of Columbia Falls.
It’s been a few years since the city has conducted a surplus auction, City Manager Chuck Stearns said.
Some of the items, such as box springs and bed frames, are left over from the Fire Department’s move to the new Emergency Services Center a couple of years ago.
There are three guns for sale that were seized by the Police Department. They include a Bushmaster XM15, a Winchester 1300 Defender and a Winchester .30-30. Background checks for prospective gun buyers are required by the Police Department prior to the sale.
Among the items for auction are a 1978 dump truck, dump truck chassis, Tennant sweeper, water tanker truck, oil distributor truck, two Wacker asphalt compactors, a jackhammer, a six-yard dump box, chain-link fencing, loader bucket, plow blade, miscellaneous office furniture, lockers, a microwave oven, several skateboards and whiteboards.
All items sell “as is,” without returns, guarantees or warranties. Cash, checks and Visa/Master Card will be accepted. Complete payment must be made on the day of the auction.
