Wooden Boat Show winners announced

Forty varnished vessels from as far as Kelowna, British Columbia, and Gig Harbor, Wash., participated in the 27th annual Wooden Boat Show in Coeur d'Alene this weekend.
The event, sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce, attracted thousands from across the region, said Diane Higdem, chamber commodores and events coordinator.
Owners of modern and classic boats swapped lake-faring tales with visitors, and experts from the Coeur d'Alene Custom Wood Boat Shop and the StanCraft Boat Company displayed custom work.
The show's sponsors this year included The Black Book, OfficeTECH, Hagadone Marine Group, Tom Addis Automotive Group, Spokane International Airport, StanCraft, Time Warner and Blue 541.
Steve Parmentier took the "Best of Show" at Saturday night's awards banquet. Parmentier also won "Best Engine Compartment."
