HAYDEN - Tamara's salon has set Saturday, Sept. 8, aside as a day to raise money for Cody Piscitelli, a 19-year-old Hayden man who was paralyzed in a motocross accident Aug. 11.

The salon will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, and customers will be asked to pay whatever they can afford for haircuts.

"That way we can make sure we get some people out here," said owner Tamara Wells.

All the money raised goes to Cody, she said.

The salon is located at 21 W. Commerce Drive, across Government Way from the Hayden City Hall.

"You never know when this could be you or someone you love that this happens to," Wells said.

She asked that other salon owners try and "find it in their hearts" to host something similar for Piscitelli.

She also is inviting outside hairdressers and barbers who want to come and participate to join her on Sept. 8.

Piscitelli was riding at Airway Motocross Park, at Airway Heights, when he was injured jumping on the dirt track. He suffered a complete separation of the spinal cord, and is paralyzed from the middle of the chest down.

He had been training for next year's Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Tennessee.

Owner Tamara Wells can be contacted at (208) 762-2679.
