OTHELLO - Othello was a hotbed for automobile wreck activity over the weekend.

Three separate incidents injured six people and totalled all six of the vehicles involved.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, Naysha M. Richmond, 18, of Othello, was traveling east on Bench Road in a 2000 Honda Civic.

Jorge Miron, 18, also of Othello, was riding as her passenger.

Curtis B. McGuin, 57, of Connell, was traveling southbound of state Route 17 two miles east of Othello.

According to Washington State Patrol reports, Richmond ran a stop sign, striking McGuin's 2008 Chevrolet Impala inside the intersection.

All three were transported to Othello Community Hospital. As of Monday, McGuin and Miron were released.

Richmond was transferred to another facility, where she has since been released.

Both vehicles were considered total losses and towed from the scene.

Richmond's failure to stop was considered the cause of the wreck.

A few hours later, Jordan R. Garza, 21, of Othello, was driving westbound on state Route 24.

Around 5 a.m., a 2001 Toyota Celica 4D driven by Alma R. Toscano-Cervantes, 25, of Mesa, was attempting to enter the highway from a southerly orchard.

According to reports, Garza's 2009 Audi A4 4D crossed the center line, striking Toscano-Cervantes vehicle in the eastbound lane.

Janatan Arellin-Villalobos, 28, of Mesa, was a passenger in Toscano-Cervantes' car. He was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he was listed in satisfactory condition Monday.

Toscano-Cervantes was transported to Othello Community Hospital, where she was released as of Monday.

Garza was not injured.

Both cars were considered total losses and were later towed from the scene.

The cause is still under investigation.

Finally, Glenda Bustos, 32, of Mesa, was traveling westbound on Foley Road three miles north of Othello on Sunday.

Yolanda L. Martinez, 20, of Manson, was driving a 1998 GMC pickup north on state Route 17.

Around 3:30 a.m., Bustos attempted to turn a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on the highway, where she struck Martinez' pickup.

Neither of them were injured, though a 5-year-old juvenile passenger was transported to Othello Community Hospital.

The state patrol did not release which vehicle the child was a passenger in, nor did they release the gender.

Both vehicles were considered a total loss and were towed from the scene.

Bustos' failure to stop was considered the cause of the wreck.

Except for Arellin-Villalobos, all involved in the wrecks were wearing seat belts. Troopers are still investigating whether or not he was.

Drugs or alcohol didn't appear to be a factor in any of the incidents.
