POLSON — It’s that time again — despite the warm weather it is back to school for the students of Cherry Valley Elementary.
New kindergarten teacher Nicole Bigbow just finished her first day and was amazed at how fast it went.
“It was fun…interesting,” she laughs.
Bigbow is sitting with one of her students, kindergartener Lainelle Verdejo, who is enjoying the sunshine after a hard days work.
Lainelle said she enjoyed her first day of school, and wasn’t quite sure just what she had learned yet with help of her teacher Ms. Bigbow. Although, Lainelle said, “ we learned how to listen.”
Peyton Coe and Keatton Pierce just finished their first day and were clearly excited to be back outdoors.
“My first day was a little scary. I was kind of nervous because I missed my mom,” Keatton said, “ and recess was too short!”
When Peyton was asked what he learned his first day back he exclaimed, “ I learned one dice is a die and two die are a dice! “
First-grade teacher Mrs. Crosby is waiting to help load students on the bus. When asked how her first day back went, she replied,
“hot and fast. It is always so exciting to get a new batch of first graders — it is so much fun watching them learn to read.”
