In her 20th year as head coach of Libby’s volleyball team, Cindy Ostrem-Johnston has to let go of last year’s disappointing 4-11 record to battle back with an experienced team.

Seven letter-winners return for the 2012 season, including seniors, team leaders and outside hitters Harley Nelson and Lauren Wepprecht.

Strong serving and a cooperative nature will be boons for the team, and middle hitters Taylor Quinn, Devon Gallagher and setter Hannah England will be key figures.

One weakness Ostrem-Johnson acknowledges is the team’s lack of height, which makes kills and blocks difficult. That’s where Mahalah Wedel comes in. As Libero, she is a defensive specialist who must keep volleys alive.

The Lady Loggers have 25 athletes this year.
