Panthers volleyball elevates

The Alberton Panthers Volleyball team played their season opener against the Darby Tigers on Friday afternoon in Alberton.
Alberton got off to a quick start against the Tigers and won the first game 25-13. However the momentum shifted in the second game in favor of Darby.
The Panthers won the second game 25-22 but from then on it was all Darby who won the next three games 25-18, 27-25, and 15-13.
Junior Delani Hanley led the Panthers in kills with five and the team posted 18.
Sophomore Priya Jopek played like an upperclassmen with seven assists, six aces and a block.
Alberton served lights out in the first two games and had 22 aces in the loss.
The Panthers will face Valley Christian at home on Thursday at 5:30 pm.
