“Rocki” Getz, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away Aug 25, 2012. Rocki was born in Coeur d’Alene on Oct. 12, 1943, to Roscoe and Kathryn Fuller, the younger of two children. She was raised in the Coeur d’Alene area and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. She attended Walla Walla College and North Idaho College. She married Gary Getz in 1965 and they had two daughters together.
Her hobbies included: Arts and crafts, sewing, and baking cookies and cakes. She was well known for her elaborate Gingerbread villages and her love of animals, especially her baby pygmy goats. She loved to travel and camp and was an avid reader.
She worked in the food industry for most of her working career, including Templin’s Resort, The Coeur d’Alene Resort Convention Center and Post Falls School District. Also, as one of her jobs, she worked as a Teacher’s Aid for the Coeur d’Alene School District.
She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by: Gary, her husband; Kathi Getz and AJ Hair, her daughters; and Myron Fuller, her brother.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at the Coeur d’Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Rocki wished any memorial donations be given to the “World Wildlife Foundation” or the “Kootenai Humane Society.”
