WOLVES: You're invited to a rally

A rally honoring the 545 wolves already killed in Idaho and Montana is set for Aug. 30 in Coeur d’Alene. Ralliers will also protest the next Idaho wolf hunt, which begins the same day. It will be held at Fort Sherman City Park from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

Wolf killing has been ongoing in various parts of Idaho since fall 2011, with hunts currently ongoing in the Idaho panhandle and the Clearwater/Selway regions.

“It’s time to end fairy-tale fantasies,” said Brooks Fahy, executive director of Predator Defense. “Science clearly shows that healthy populations of wolves and other predator species are critical for a healthy environment. The shooting, trapping, snaring and torture of wolves must stop. The slaughter of wolves in Idaho is being driven by a fanatical blood lust that has no place in modern wildlife management.”
