A high-speed rollover crash resulted in the death of a 23-year-old Post Falls resident early Wednesday in the Post Falls area.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, passenger Yuri Raper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michelle Longstreet, 26, Post Falls, was driving a 2002 Chevy sedan eastbound on Poleline Avenue. She was transported to Kootenai Medical Center, where she remained critical condition on Wednesday afternoon.

Both occupants were ejected and not using seat belts, according to the sheriff's office.

The accident occurred at 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Poleline and Meyer Road.

According to the sheriff's office, the vehicle was eastbound on Poleline, lost control, went off the road, struck a tree and rolled over.

Until lab results return, it will be unknown if alcohol was a factor. An investigation continues.

* In another crash on U.S. 95 at Garwood on Tuesday night, three people were transported to KMC after a head-on collision.

According to Idaho State Police, Jedidiah Heath, 22, Spokane, was driving a 1996 Toyota 4Runner southbound at 10:04 p.m. when the vehicle crossed left of center, striking a northbound 2012 Hyundai Genesis driven by Vanesa Fetrow, 41, Harrisburg, Pa.

Fetrow, Heath and Del Turley, a passenger in the Toyota from Careywood, were transported to KMC. They were wearing seat belts.

Fetrow was in fair condition on Wednesday afternoon. Heath was treated and released. A KMC spokeswoman said the hospital didn't have a record of Turley.

Airbags were deployed on both vehicles.
