Seniors age 60 and older receive free admission to the Hockaday Museum of Art on the second Thursday of each month for the Senior Tour and Tea Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies are served between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Guests interested in participating in a gallery tour led by one of the museum’s trained volunteer docents are asked to meet at the front desk at 10:30 am. for a guided tour of the museum’s current exhibitions.

This month’s new exhibit is Russell Chatham’s “Montana Landscape through the Seasons” which displays Chatham’s tonalist style of painting.

Another exhibit on display is the Hockaday’s annual Members Salon, which features over 120 artist members’ current work in a wide variety of styles and media. Guests are invited to cast their votes for their favorites in the People’s Choice Award competition.

The tour also includes the “Crown of the Continent Gallery” which showcases the art and artists of Glacier National Park in the Hockaday’s permanent collection. Featured artists include C.M. Russell, T.J. Hileman, Ace Powell, O.C. Seltzer, Leonard Lopp, John Fery, and Adolph Heinze.

The museum is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave. East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A wheelchair accessible entry and elevator are provided.
