Softball pitching clinics lined up

The Columbia Falls Youth Softball Association is taking registration for the Winter Pitching Clinic now through Dec. 10. The clinic is open for grades 3-9 and will be held at The Fellowship Alliance Church in Columbia Falls.

The 10U group, grades 3 and 4, will meet every Thursday from Jan. 3 to March 14. The 12U and 14U groups, grades 5 and 6, will meet every Monday from Jan. 7 to March 25.

Forms and information are available online at www.wildkatsoftball.org. Space is limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, call Kathy Price at 892-1162.

A bill requiring the state to electronically verify that all foreign nationals are in the U.S. legally before issuing a Montana driver’s license or ID card was signed into law by Gov. Brian Schweitzer on April 18.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
