NW/SW Tipoff: C-Falls boys spill Anaconda

CORVALLIS — Columbia Falls used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Anaconda for a 57-45 victory at the Northwest-Southwest Tip-off Basketball Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Wildcats outscored Anaconda 17-11 in the final frame.

Luke Kazlauskas tallied 11 points and Nakia Alexander 10 for the victors.

Anaconda did not have a player in double-figure scoring.

CORVALLIS — The scoring combination of Austin Jordt, 16 points, Colter Trent, 14, and Seth Roesmann, 13, was too much for Hamilton as Bigfork cruised to a 31-point victory.

Bigfork led 24-11 after eight minutes of play and 38-18 at the half. 

Hamilton did not have a double-figure scorer.

CORVALLIS — Defending Class A state champion Dillon checked Polson by 20 points.

Dillon jumped out to an 18-8 lead and never looked back.

Boyd Jenne and Ben Folson led Dillon offensively with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Hayden Congdon paced the Pirates with 12 points.

CORVALLIS — Ronan used a balanced attack to pull out a back-and-fourth affair with Whitefish.

Kollin Wroblewski led all scorers with 15 points. Also in double figures for Ronan were Dallas Jore and Zachary Wagner with 11 each and Carston Baertsch with 10.

Cooper Olson and Keaton Nicholson topped Whitefish with 11 each and Logan Harwood followed with 10.

CORVALLIS — Libby almost overcame a scoreless first period to beat Corvallis.

Corvallis led 8-0 after the first quarter, but the Loggers rebounded to take a 15-14 lead at the half.

Libby could muster just six points in the fourth quarter.

Libby was led by Jared Winslow’s 20 points.

Chase Walker had 11 for Corvallis

CORVALLIS — Zach Gavlak scored 24 points and Jesse Sims and Jared Schultz were next with 12 each as Stevensville whipped Frenchtown.

Stevensville exploded for 26 points in the second quarter and followed with 21 more in the third.

John Chapman had 19 points for Frenchtown.
