Guards lead NIC women past CCS

SPOKANE - Guards Georgia Stirton and Katie Buskey scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, and the North Idaho College women's basketball team, ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA, defeated Community Colleges of Spokane 60-43 in nonconference play Friday night.
"Our guards played very well and carried us for much of the game," NIC coach Chris Carlson said.
Hannah Love added 10 rebounds, eight points and five steals for the Cardinals (11-0), who open Scenic West Athletic Conference play Thursday with a game vs. Colorado Northwestern at Rangely, Colo.
