County commissioners fill more board vacancies

The Flathead County commissioners made more county board appointments Thursday as they work to fill remaining vacancies by year’s end.

On the Fair Board they chose Michael Moffitt and incumbent Wes McAlpin to fill two vacancies. Board member Michael Mower sought reappointment but was not chosen; applicants Mickey Lapp and Tina Lee Malkuch also were not selected.

Marc Liechti won the lone vacancy on the Airport Authority Board. He will replace Glen Kartheiser, whose term ends Dec. 31. Other applicants included Jimmy Cash, Mickey Lapp, Doug Adams, Michael Talbot and Dennis Konopatzke.

On the Health Board the commissioners reappointed three incumbents for three vacancies: Bill Burg, Glen Aasheim and Aaron McConkey. Tina Lee Malkuch also had applied for one of the three vacancies.

Jeannie Luckey was reappointed to another term on the Port Authority Board. Mark Johnson was the other applicant for the lone vacancy.

Gary Luce was chosen for a vacancy on the Columbia Falls Cemetery Board. Incumbent Renae Ren was not reappointed.

Lindsay Nix and incumbent Myni Ferguson will fill two vacancies on the Animal Advisory Committee.
