PASCO, Wash. - Post Falls outscored Chiawana 35-16 in the middle two quarters and beat the Riverhawks 56-43 in nonleague play Saturday.

The Trojans improved to 8-0 - matching the program's best start since the 2001-02 squad also began 8-0.

Hallie Gennett had 14 points and 12 rebounds, Brooke Litalien scored 13 points, and Dani Failor added 11 points, 13 rebounds and four assists for Post Falls.

"We got off to a real slow start, we weren't playing with a lot of energy," said Trojans coach Marc Allert, whose team was playing its third game of the week for the second straight week. "They shut down our transition in the first part of the game. Toward the end of the second quarter we started getting out more in transition, played with more enthusiasm. In the third quarter got after 'em on defense; defense got our offense going. It was a pretty gutty win for us."

Delaney Hodgins scored 12 points for Chiawana (1-4).

Post Falls returns to the Tri-Cities on Tuesday, playing at Hanford of Richland, Wash.

"It doesn't help much when you shoot like that, but it was a good game in the first half. We fell behind and caught up, then they made a shot at the buzzer and took the lead and got the momentum and we couldn't get it back. Mead's a good ballclub."
