SANDPOINT — Cassie Young posted eight points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Sandpoint to a 39-31 win over Kellogg on Tuesday in nonleague girls basketball at Les Rogers Court.

Nikole Alamillo added nine points for the Bulldogs (6-4), and Maryah Delgado had a nice all-around showing with four points, eight boards and five assists. Sandpoint played without Hailey Olin, Jordan Speelmon and Lily Martin, and let a 24-12 halftime lead slip away in the second half.

“We lost our focus and confidence in the second half. We’re asking players to take on unfamiliar roles due to injury,” said Bulldogs head coach Bill Bender. “It was a great learning experience and an opportunity to grow. No question we missed the skill and and leadership of Hailey and Jordan plus the bench depth that Lily Martin provides.”

Jessi Gibbons led the Wildcats (4-3) with nine points, including 3-8 shooting from beyond the arc.

Sandpoint hosts West Valley on Friday.
