A 61-year-old Hayden man died during an apparent vehicle accident and fire in his driveway on Tuesday night.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Thomas McLennon died in the 2007 Jeep Commander he was driving just off the 23000 block of Hayden Lake Road.
His homebound fiancee became concerned after he didn't return home from work.
"It appears to be traffic-related," KCSO Lt. Stu Miller said of the incident.
McLennon's wife called his work, where he hadn't been seen.
When deputies responded to the home around 7 p.m. Tuesday, they found that the vehicle became stuck against a tree along the windy half-mile driveway and caught on fire. McLennon was found dead in the vehicle. The fire had extinguished itself by the time deputies arrived.
Miller said it's unclear how the vehicle left the road and caught on fire.
An investigation continues.

Rudebaugh was transported to Kootenai Medical Center, where she was in good condition on Wednesday.
