Local athletes qualify for academic all state

Forty-five Columbia Falls High School athletes qualified for academic all state this fall sports season. In order to qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better and earned a varsity letter in a sanctioned sport.

They are Hope Burlage, Allisom Dierenfield, Ciera Finberg, Shannon Hay, Winter Kemppainen, Carla Nicosia, Caleb Baumann, Mason Gedlaman, Tavia Bechtel, Danielle Delventhal, Charlotte Ellis, Andrea Getts, Sydney Grilley, Katherin Hanes, Ellie Johnson, Kira Kamrud, Gabrielle Keller, Ashley Miller, Katie Price, Meagan Seliger, Alexandra Strouse, William Brunz, Glenn Morden, Carlee Brown, Victoriah Price, Meredith Stolte, Connor Bowman, Matthew Erhart, Mark Johnson, Ty Morgan, Josiah Osborne, Alex Presnell, Ike Schweikert, Tyler Volkman, Baylee Brinton, Britney Cotton, McKenna Emmerich, Morgan Love, Maggie Panasuk, Henry Chisholm, Jared LaRoque, Grant Wallace, Kaitlen Burley, Kelcie Christenson and Jessica Ream.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
