Margaret (Peg) McKee, nee Murray, died peacefully of natural causes at the age of 93. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., her family moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1922.

She met her husband, Bill, in a kindergarten class taught by Bill’s grandmother. Peg and Bill married in 1943 and had six children. They were married for 67 years. In 1973 they moved to Coeur d’ Alene where they enjoyed everything Idaho has to offer. They were very active in the Mary Immaculate Queen Catholic Church in Rathdrum and made many wonderful friends there.

For the last six years of her life, Peg was lovingly cared for by Kim and Dirk Van der Kolk at the Bella Angel Residence Home in Coeur d’Alene.

Peg is survived by five of her children, Madelyn Jameson, Annie Taliercio, Mary Andert, Fr. Gerard McKee CMRI and John McKee; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; her son, Lt. Col Thomas McKee USAF and her granddaughter, Jadalyn Sidener.

Peg will be remembered for her diligent hard work, her love and devotion to friends and family and her love of gardening, travel and the great outdoors.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 North Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. The funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Mt. St. Michael’s Church in Spokane.
