'Play in A Day' fundraiser Jan. 2

COEUR d'ALENE - Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho, in conjunction with Chill Bucket Production, will host its fourth annual "Play in A Day" fundraiser at the Kroc Center on Jan. 2 and 3.

It is free to kids between 10-18. Participants are asked to sign up at cytnorthidaho.org.

This year's show will be an original musical written by Chill Bucket Productions called "Villain Idol."

The show pits classic villains from the stage and screen against classic Fairytale Characters in a singing competition. It has speaking roles for children.

In the last three years, more than 400 local kids have put on a play in 24 hours.

Funds are raised at the Play in a Day event through ticket sales to the performance at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3.

"You won't want to miss this opportunity to see what 100-plus local kids and numerous volunteer adults can pull off in just 24 hours," according to a press release.

Tickets are $10 at cytnorthidaho.org or at auditions on Jan. 2 starting at 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Community Theater. They will be $15 at the door.
