CHARLO — In a Lake County showdown, the Mission and Charlo boys basketball squads squared off on Friday in Charlo, with the visiting Bulldogs coming out on top 68-49.

After Mission built up a narrow 11-9 first quarter lead over the Vikings, the Bulldogs seized full control of the game.

Mission dropped a demoralizing 30 points on Charlo in the second quarter, making it 41-18 at the half.

The Vikings picked things up with a 29-point second half, but still couldn’t find a way to stop the Bulldogs, who scored 27 points.

A 25-point performance by Dylan Evans was key in Mission’s victory, as was Stuart Grant’s 17 points in the contest.

Paden Alexander and Jarred Brown pitched in for nine and seven points respectively, while Ryce Hegwood (three), Nikko Alexander (three), Patrick Eichert (two) and Raymond Matt (two) also made baskets for Mission.

Charlo had two players reach double-figures as well, as Kail Pope tallied 11 and Dalton Delaney posted 10.

Tra Ludeman dropped seven in the game, while Webb O’Neill and Tristan Santee scored six points apiece. Maverick Nelson added four, while Jesse Long and Jade Smith scored three and two points respectively.

The Bulldogs will host a highly-touted Florence team on Dec. 20.

CHARLO VS. ST. REGIS

CHARLO — Coming off their rough loss to Mission the night before, the Vikings took out their frustrations on St. Regis Saturday, stomping the Tigers 50-23.

Charlo pummeled St. Regis en route to a 28-11 first half lead, before outscoring the Tigers 22-12 in the second and picking up the easy win.

Pope led the team with 14 points on the night, while O’Neill added 11 and Delaney dropped 10.

Kobe Cox and Smith contributed four points apiece, while Nelson chipped in three as well. Ludeman (two), Santee (one), and Cody Kobilansky (one) also scored.

No Tiger players scored in the double-figures, as Gibson Lowry and Andrew Managhan tied for the team lead with six points each.

The Vikings will host Two Eagle River School on Dec. 20, before going on the road to take on Noxon on Dec. 21.
