Cordell scores 17 to lead 'Jacks past 'Cats

ST. MARIES - Austin Cordell had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the St. Maries Lumberjacks past the Kellogg Wildcats 41-39 in a nonleague game Wednesday.

"Austin played a game for us tonight," St. Maries coach John Bisson said. "He had the rebounds and was shooting the ball really well. We just looked like we came together tonight and played more disciplined than we had all season tonight."

Austin Linnemeyer had seven points, five assists and Jordan Stapleton three assists for St. Maries (3-2), which hosts Liberty on Friday.

Garret Wendt had 13 points and eight rebounds for Kellogg (5-3), which travels to Timberlake on Saturday.
