FILE - In this Sept. 6, 2012 file photo, Chris Williams stands in front of the U.S. District Courthouse in Helena, Mont. Williams took a stand as the only Montana medical marijuana provider to reject a plea deal with the government and insist on a jury trial instead. His conviction and possible prison sentence of 80 years branded him a martyr among marijuana advocates. Now Williams is looking to not simply reverse that conviction but to also strike down the federal Controlled Substances Act as unconstitutional. (AP Photo/Matt Volz, File)
