CORVALLIS — The Mission-Charlo wrestling team traveled to Corvallis on Saturday to compete in the nine-team Glyn Brawley Invitational, coming away with a fifth-place finish.

CORVALLIS — The Mission-Charlo wrestling team traveled to Corvallis on Saturday to compete in the nine-team Glyn Brawley Invitational, coming away with a fifth-place finish.

The Bulldogs were one of three teams from the Western B-C Division at the event, as Thompson Falls and Florence were also in attendance.

Thompson Falls (120) edged Mission-Charlo (115) by a mere five points for fourth place, while Florence scored 81 points and picked up an eighth-place finish.

Host Corvallis took home the tournament title with 226 points.

The Bulldogs had three individual champions and three other placers at the tournament.

Israel Lafrombois took home the 135-pound crown after topping Hamilton’s Easton Albert in the championship match.

Meanwhile, Jacen Petersen continues to look like an unstoppable force for Mission-Charlo after taking home yet another 171-pound tournament title.

Petersen took down another Bronc in Tyler Sheffer in the final match.

After returning to the lineup just last week, 215-pounder Barret Sargent seems to have settled in nicely, defeating Corvallis’ James Weidow for the title.

Morgan Schultz (105), Jamie Mullins (119) and Pascoe Green (140) all picked up fourth-place finishes for Mission-Charlo.

Schultz was bested by Corvallis’ Paul Allsop in the consolation final, while Hamilton’s Kyle Lubke defeated Mullins in their battle for the consolation final. Green fell to Frenchtown’s Kody Wilson.

Mission-Charlo will host the Mission Mountain Classic on Dec. 22. The event starts at 9 a.m.
