Norman Junior Shinneman, 75

Norman Junior Shinneman, 75, of Post Falls, peacefully passed away Dec. 21, 2012, with family by his side, to join his other loved ones and his creator.

He was born on July 31, 1937, in Champaign, Ill., to Edith Cleora (Elliott) Shinneman and Norman Dale Shinneman. Norm grew up in big Bear, Calif., and graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in the Los Angeles City High School District. Norm joined the United States Army in January 1957 and proudly served his country until February 1962 receiving an Honorable Discharge, an Expert BAR designation and a Good Conduct Medal.

Norm married Irene Marie Boesler on April 27, 1958, and together they had five children. Norm worked as an Independent Contractor followed by working as a CPA after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane. Norm’s hobbies included a great love of big game hunting, fishing and football along with his carving, crafts, woodwork and gardening.

Norm was preceded by his mother, Edith Shinneman; his son, Randy Shinneman; his daughter, Deborah Shinneman; and his Pops and Mom Moffitt.

Norm is survived by his sisters, Shirley Dojcsak and MaryAnne Wolpin; his daughters, Pam Dresser, Cindy Dresser and Kim Routh; his grandchildren, Brandon Shinneman, Kayla Shinneman, Devin Dresser, Joshua and Jeremiah Shinneman, and Savanna and Gage Routh; and his great-grandchildren, Coleton and Cayden Shinneman. Norm is additionally survived by his brothers and sister in heart, Jim, Bob, Jack, Bill and Ginger Moffitt, and John Miller.
