Draft growth policy goes to county planning board

The Flathead County Planning Board will review and take comment on the recently completed draft Flathead County Growth Policy Update during a public hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The meeting will take place at the Earl Bennett Building, 1035 First Avenue West, in Kalispell, beginning at 6 p.m.

The planning board at that time will consider making a formal recommendation on the document to the Flathead County Commissioners. Public comments may also be submitted via e-mail to [email protected]. An electronic copy is posted online at http://flathead.mt.gov/planning_zoning/GrowthPolicyUpdate-CurrentWorkingDrafts.php or can be e-mailed. Hard copies may be purchased at the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
