James Louis Bonifas, 75, was arraigned Monday morning for allegedly killing his daughter, Suzanne Campbell, 41, on Jan. 6.

Bonifas is currently being held by authorities at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

He has been charged with deliberate homicide. Bonifas is, for the time being, represented by public defenders.

The defense asked for time to have Bonifas examined by a mental-health professional.

No plea was entered Monday. Defense attorneys will have 45 days to provide a mental-health evaluation report to the courts.

A court date has been set for March 12.
