BB: Polson teams split against C-Falls

The Polson boys played much better against C-Falls but fell

43-42 while the Polson girls downed the Wildkats 48-39 to improve

to 11-3.

C-Falls Boys 43, Polson 42

POLSON - The Polson boys played C-Falls tough and nearly toppled the top team in the NWA, but the Wildcats were able to hold on for a 43-42 victory.

Polson jumped out to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter, but star post Tyler Krell to a knee injury. The Pirates went into halftime with a 32-26 lead.

In the third quarter, Polson slowed things down and played possession ball, and while they went scoreless, the game was very much anybody's ballgame with C-Falls up 33-32 going into the fourth.

The lead went back and fourth in the last quarter with the Wildcats coming out on top despite 17 points by Polson's Zack Camel in the game. Ian Laimbeer had seven and Vince DiGiallonardo added six.

Polson is now 8-8 on the season.

Polson Girls 48, C-Falls 39

POLSON - The Lady Pirates got production from their two posts and came away with the 48-39 victory on Saturday.

Riley Kenney had 16 and Heidi Rausch had 12 and the Pirates improved to 11-3 on the season.

The game was tied at 18-18 at halftime until Polson went on a 15-7 run in the third quarter. Columbia Falls could never get a comeback rolling and the Lady Pirates cruised to victory.

LAKE COUNTY — A string of burglaries woke up several storeowners in Lake County early Tuesday morning. The three separate break ins that occurred within the span of an hour and a half are believed to be connected.

Whitford hearing continued to Dec. 4

POLSON - The district court omnibus hearing for murder suspect Makueeyapee Whitford has been continued again, with Whitford's attorney Steven Eschenbacher requesting a six-week continuance in a brief court appearance Thursday. Eschenbacher indicated that the request is motivated by "outstanding discovery motions" that are still being processed.
