COEUR d'ALENE - The second shot is the one going on the wall.

The first picture is a little too boring, two guys standing shoulder to shoulder, smiling.

It's the one where investing tycoon and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. chief executive Warren Buffett is choking Lake City High School graduate Pat Ryan with his own tie that Pat's dad, Chuck Ryan, wants to display in his Coeur d'Alene home.

"We're going to frame it, so he can hang it on his wall," Chuck said. "And we'll have one here, too."

Along with plenty of copies of the Wall Street Journal's Friday edition, which is where the description of the encounter hit black and white print.

"I thought I better grab them," Chuck said of buying up the local stock of the New York publication. "So I got a couple of copies."

Pat met Buffett recently during a visit to Berkshire's headquarters. The day's visit happens several times a year, and is reserved for the country's top business students. Pat, who graduated as a Timberwolf in 2001, is an MBA student at the University of Notre Dame and earned a visit to the 81-year-old billionaire's headquarters.

Buffett dished out some business, investing and life lessons, as promised. He also screwed around - choke holds, punches, gag proposals, just say "cheese." Buffett posed for two pictures with each student, one serious and one not.

"He went right for it, and you could tell he really enjoyed it," Pat told the WSJ, which asked the 29-year-old how he thought to dangle from his own tie like a fish and have Buffett look every part the proud fisherman.

Pat said he had to think fast. His original idea to swap eyeglasses with Buffett was used by students ahead of him.

While Chuck and Linda knew their son, who graduates in May, had been selected to attend the event, they didn't know it would be in the WSJ until Pat called home with the news.

"He said, 'You know mom, they even quoted you,'" Chuck said.

Indirectly, that is. The paper included Linda's reaction as Pat described to the paper how his mom responded after Pat emailed the gag shot home.

"Only you would ask Warren Buffett to choke you," she told her son.
