I have been reading Mr. Membury's wild-eyed rants with pure eye-rolling amusement. So, let me put this briefly, that a real conservative would respect the fact that in the land of the brave and the home of the free... People are not going to 1,000 percent agree with one another and quite frankly, shouldn't have to. This isn't Communist China, after all.

As for everything else that Mr. Membury has expressed over a period of two to three months, everyone else isn't a "liberal" who corrects his political spin on the history of presidents, what they are instead are intelligent and informed people who spend some time researching history and presenting the facts of history. If Mr. Membury doesn't like that, it's too bad.

And finally, FDR's "socialism" came at a time of the Great Depression. And as a wealthy scion of a wealthy family (who would certainly find themselves having to participate in the wealth redistribution that is Social Security) showed sufficient compassion toward truly needy people as the president at the time to set up this program to assist them through tough times.

Apparently, enough people liked this idea that Social Security continued decades later, long after the Depression era that had made it possible had ceased. Also, for Mr. Membury's information, that wealth distribution even assists very wealthy people who can also obtain Social Security upon retirement.

So, I'd suggest to Mr. Membury to calm down, back off and do some serious thinking before he spouts again. Because all he impresses me with, is how leftist radical he is.
