WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Wild defeated the Fresno Monsters at the Town Toyota Center, 4-2.

It was Wenatchee's fourth straight win and eighth win in the last nine games.

Riley Borer put the visitors up 41 seconds into the contest when he scored on a wrist shot from the left wing after the Monsters made a quick transition out of their own zone. Mikhail Bushinski assisted.

The Wild went on to score the next two markers to take a 2-1 lead. Trace Redmond (McKinney, Texas) scored the first of those goals 5:08 into the first stanza. During the Wild's first power play of the night, Redmond scored from the slot on a one-timer off of Blake Roubos' (Niagara Falls, Ontario) pass from the near circle.

Chris Kerr (Penticton, British Columbia) gave Wenatchee a 2-1 lead with 5:29 remaining before the first intermission on Shawn Pauly's (Bellingham) backhand pass from behind the end line. Fresno came back to force a 2-2 tie when Jeffrey Pauluk scored on a wrist shot from the near point during a power play with 2:27 remaining in the first period. Borer and Brendan Bradley collected the assists.

Trevor Husch (Plainfield, Ill.) scored what would count as the eventual game-winner with 9:14 remaining in the second period when he knocked in a pass from Blake Saylor (Centennial, Colo.). Roubos scored an insurance goal for the Wild 2:54 into the third period when he cleaned up a rebound. Ben Carey (Centennial, Colo.) and Redmond assisted.

Greg Lewis (Mars, Pa.) stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced to earn his eighth win of the season. Fresno's Macauley Haight made 35 saves on 39 shots. Wenatchee scored one power-play goal on three chances while Fresno scored one man-advantage marker on two opportunities.

Redmond and Roubos led the Wild. Each scored one goal and added one assist. For the Monsters, Borer scored one goal with one assist.

Wenatchee (21-10-4) will conclude its home series against Fresno (16-13-8) Saturday. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
