RATHDRUM - Sophomore Kirsten Auer hit two free throws and Dusti Huddleston hit a field goal and two free throws in overtime to lift the St. Maries Lumberjacks past the Kellogg Wildcats 36-31 in overtime in a loser-out game at the 3A District 1 tournament on Monday at Lakeland High.

With the win, the Lumberjacks (6-13) face No. 1 seed Priest River tonight at Lakeland.

McKenna Stewart led the Wildcats with 10 points. Kellogg ends the season with a 10-11 record. Hunter Rainio and Jessi Gibbons each added five points for the Wildcats.

Kellogg had a chance to break the tie with less than five second left in the fourth, but St. Maries took possession and couldn't get a shot off to send it to overtime.

"We had a 5-point lead in the fourth, and Kellogg came back and kept chipping away," St. Maries coach Jay Sines said. "Our girls just played hard all game - I'm really proud of them.

"Kellogg had some misses in overtime and we made our shots to seal it."
