ROYAL CITY -  The long, tough season for the Royal girls basketball team came to a close Saturday with a 40-33 loss to Burbank and coach Phil Daubel had no complaints.

"We played one of our most complete games of the year," he said. "We just didn't execute down the stretch."

The Knights were done in by 41 turnovers and 8-for-20 shooting from the free throw line. But they had a balanced attack on offense.

Lindsey Christensen scored seven points. Marisa Squeoch, Moriah Christensen and Brittney Jo Hebdon added  six. Kayla Smith had five.

Lindsey had 11 rebounds, Moriah and Smith seven each and Squeoch six. Hebdon and Stefhany Guadarrama had  five each.

"This was a group of ladies with exceptional character," Daubel said. "I know my seniors will go far in life."
