Cards swept by Bruins

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Tanisha Anderson homered in both games to lead the second-ranked Salt Lake Bruins past the North Idaho College Cardinals 10-5, 11-2 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference opening softball doubleheader Wednesday at Canyons Park.
NIC's Brianna Bishop hit a two-run double in the first game to score Danielle Hockett and Jessica Lupinacci in the third inning, but the Bruins struck back with eight runs on eight hits. Nicole Atkinson and KaSara Wise also had RBIs for NIC in the opener.
In the second game, Bishop drove in Wise to tie the game at 1-all in the third inning, but the Bruins scored 10 of their 11 runs in the final three innings.
NIC (2-9) faces Salt Lake again today in St. George.
