Donna Jean Plumb, 96

Donna Jean Plumb, 96, passed away at Hospice House on Feb. 4, 2012. She was born in Bainville, Mont., on Oct. 19, 1915, daughter of Roy and Hazel (Croasdale) O'Brien.

In 1923 her family moved from International Falls, Minn., to Coeur d'Alene. She married Jim Burns in 1931. She worked in various bakeries and restaurants and operated Lambcreek Market and Café in Priest Lake for several years.

She was past president of the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons, Roy and Jim Burns; sister Helen Benfield; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Beckner; sister Beatrice Delyea; brothers, Harold and Donald O'Brien; and husbands, Jim Burns, Roy Raber and Bob Plumb.

The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus and Hospice of North Idaho for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of North Idaho. Viewing will be held from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, and a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, both at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. Burial to follow at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene.
