COEUR d'ALENE - Vandals tagged three separate buildings with graffiti this past weekend, and Coeur d'Alene police believe the incidents are connected to three others in December.
During the weekend, somebody spray painted the north side of a building at 314 N. Third St. used by Kootenai County.
Damage was estimated at $50.
At Cisco's, 220 N. Fourth St., someone used black paint or marker to write on two separate boarded up windows on the north side of the business.
It occurred sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning. Damage was estimated at $25.
"We believe they're connected," said Sgt. Christie Wood of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.
Between Friday evening and Monday afternoon, someone spray painted the west and south side of the building at 902 N. Lincoln Way, housing Lake City Spay and Neuter Clinic.
Damage there was estimated at $50.
"It's hard to say at this point if it's gang related or a lone graffiti artist," Wood said.
She said police will be working aggressively to bust anyone tagging property within the city.
"Graffiti can be related to other crime," she said.
One of the other likely related graffiti incidents was reported on Dec. 10 at 1124 E. Sherman Ave.
The two others were reported on Dec. 26 at 1823 N. Fourth St., and near the intersection of North Fifth Street and East Poplar Avenue.
Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a cash reward for information on the graffiti, Wood said.
