MOSES LAKE -  Three players scored in double figures as the Moses Lake Christian Academy (MLCA) girls basketball team continued their winning ways with a lopsided 67-7 win over Columbia Basin Second School (CBSS) last night.

McKenna Walker came up big one again to lead the Lions, knocking down 21 points and hauling in five rebounds. Anna Yarbro added 14 points and  11 boards, and Maddie Tudor finished with 13 points to help MLCA preserve its undefeated record in league play.

'We talked about putting an exclamation points on the last game of the season as we head into the playoffs," coach Bryce McPartland said. " We were able to do just that and also got in some game time experience for some of our younger players."

The game got out of hand early for the Phoenix as the Lions took a 24-0 lead at the end of the first quarter of play. Things didn't get any better for CBSS in the second eight minutes of action as the team was down 45-0 at the half.

The Phoenix managed to put up seven points on the board in the second half, but the Lions added another 22 of their own to win going away. The win for MLCA improves their record to 10-0 in league play and 17-2 overall. The loss dropped CBSS to 2-6 in league play and 5-13 overall.

"I told my Ladies at half they are playing hard and that I knew they will finish the game as strong as they can and play until the end with their heads up," Phoenix coach Clint Scrivens said. "But it was hard to watch the Lions continue to pressure through the entire game as they expanded their lead."

Taylor Yamee and Dani Sandberg added six points each for MLCA. Mikaela Loudon chipped in four points, Alex Toevs had two and Abby Garrett finished with one point to round out the scoring for the Lions.

MLCA is back in action Monday when they take on Easton in round one of the district tournament in Soap Lake. The game is schedule to get under way at 6 p.m.
