Carol Grant Hargrave, born Aug. 13, 1935, died of ovarian cancer on Feb. 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Patrick Hargrave, and her parents, Jim and Rita Grant, and brother-in-law, Johnny Mangan.

Carol was raised in western Montana and attended four one-room schools. She finished her education at Eastern Washington University. She went on to teach primary school in Montana, Oregon and Idaho.

She married Pat and they moved to Idaho and built a home on Avondale in Hayden where they stayed. From all your family and friends: Happy trails dear Carol.

She is survived by Jim and Evelyn Grant (Columbia Falls), Joyce Mangan (Dalton Gardens), Jerry and Barbara Van Leuven (Spokane), Vicki McLelland (Florida), John and Jane Hargrave (Portland), Bill and Debbie Hargrave (Portland), Steve and Kathy Smith (Virginia), and many loving family members.

At Carol's request, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore.
