HOT SPRINGS - The Charlo Lady Vikings have lost two games all

season to the same team by one point each time. With the bracket

for the District 14-C Tournament in Ronan set, they'll take things

one game at a time, but a rematch with the Superior Lady Bobcats

Charlo's only losses of the season.

HOT SPRINGS - The Charlo Lady Vikings have lost two games all season to the same team by one point each time. With the bracket for the District 14-C Tournament in Ronan set, they'll take things one game at a time, but a rematch with the Superior Lady Bobcats would be an excellent opportunity to exact a measure of revenge for Charlo's only losses of the season.

In order to do that, however, they'll need to defeat the winner of Arlee and Hot Springs on Friday afternoon.

During the last weekend of the regular season, the Lady Vikings went 2-0, defeating those two teams en route to completing a 14-2 year.

On Thursday, Feb. 9, Kinley Pope and Deondra Brown nearly matched Hot Springs' team total during a 42-15 road victory.

Pope scored 13 points and Brown added 12 as Charlo overcame a bit of a slow start to defeat Hot Springs for the second time this year.

Up 7-4 after the first quarter, the Lady Vikings put the game away with an 11-5 second, 10-4 third and 14-2 fourth quarter run.

A possible second-round opponent for Charlo, Hot Springs has scored just 31 points in their two matchups with the Lady Vikings, while Pope and Brown combined have gone off for 50 points in those two meetings. The Lady Vikings defeated their other possible opponent for the second time this year when they downed the Scarlets 41-24.

Pope was a force again, scoring 19 points, while Jordan Ludeman added eight and Rachel Hoyt six in the victory.

Charlo came out sizzling, outscoring Arlee 16-2 in the first period, but the Scarlets answered over the next 16 minutes, cutting the deficit to 25-19 after three quarters.

The Lady Vikings wouldn't be denied, however, and answered Arlee's charge with a 16-5 fourth to put the game away.

In their first meeting this season with the Scarlets, Pope also had 19 points as the Lady Vikings rebounded from Arlee's 14-7 first-quarter lead to beat the Scarlets 55-44.

As the second seed, Charlo will have a first-round bye before facing the winner of Arlee and Hot Springs. The Lady Vikings will play on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2:45 p.m.
