Tim McCandless, scout executive for the Inland Northwest Council of Boy Scouts, told The Press that the scout council's foundation board voted yesterday in favor of pursuing a purchase option agreement with Discovery Land Co. This is the second board vote needed to make agreement negotiations happen.

McCandless said now a committee of real estate and development experts will be put together to negotiate an agreement with Discovery, detailing how the Camp Easton property would be swapped for a new camp built by Discovery.

If all the scouts' requirements for a new camp aren't met, there will be no swap and the scouts will stick with the current Camp Easton.
