MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake School District's bond was failing and Warden School District's capitol projects levy was passing according to the latest ballot count.
Both districts' maintenance and operation levies passed.
The Grant County Auditor's Office reported 11,233 ballots counted Wednesday with approximately 50 ballots left to count.
The next ballot count takes place Feb. 27 and the results will be certified on Feb. 28.
Less than the required 60 percent of voters were in favor of the Moses Lake School District's $115 million bond, with 50.57 percent voting for the measure and 49.43 percent voting against it.
Because the results were announced Tuesday, the school board hasn't had time to discuss their next steps, said Mark Johnson, the school district's business and operations executive director.
"The board will probably establish some study sessions here in the next week or two to determine what those next steps will be," he said.
They could include running the bond again as it is, waiting to run it again, or changing the bond, he said.
"All of those things will be discussed and determined by our board of directors," he said.
The study sessions are open to the public, he said.
Warden High School's capitol projects levy is passing with 53.59 percent voting for the measure and 46.41 percent voting against it.
The levy raises $500,000 in 2013 and $500,000 in 2014, at a collection rate of approximately $1.67 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2013 and $1.66 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2014.
Money raised from the levy will go toward renovating and expanding the district's current vocational and agricultural building. It allows the district to add additional classroom space, a computer lab, a wood shop and a greenhouse.
"We are very excited," said Ruby Perez, business manager for the district. "We are looking forward to proceeding with our vocational building remodel ... We're really excited and we just want to thank everybody for voting yes."
The Warden school board will decide when the remodeling will take place, said Perez.
