Larry and Sigrid Marshall

50th Anniversary

Larry and Sigrid Marshall celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24, 2012.

Larry Marshall was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Utah and Sigrid Schleimann was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Germany.

They were united in marriage at the Wayfarers Chapel in California in 1962. To this union were born four children.

They also have 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. All the children and their families were present for the celebration.

George and Karen Roesler

40 Years and still having fun

George and Karen Roesler married Feb. 12, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Westminster, Calif. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 2002 and love everything it offers.

ENGAGEMENT

Harris-Reeves

Scott Harris and Tammy Schnall are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaysie Harris to Calvin Reeves, all of Coeur d'Alene, son of Frank and the late Evalyn Reeves of Otis Orchards, Wash.

Kaysie is a 2007 graduate of The Bridge Academy and is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree online for family and human development. Calvin is a 2002 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Idaho in environmental science.

They couple will be united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Coeur d'Alene.

WEDDING

Duarte-Spurr

Alana Myrl Duarte and Ian Martin Spurr were married in a private ceremony, Jan. 2, 2012, on Waialae Beach in Hawaii. The bride is the daughter of Christine and Larry Duarte of Rathdrum. The groom is the son of Joanne and Bruce Manny of Dexter, Mich.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride, Myrlie, was attended by Abby Skubitz, maid of honor, and bridesmaid Andrea Bordelon. Joseph Spurr, brother of the groom, was best man and Frank Duarte, brother of the bride, was a groomsman.

The bride is a graduate of Lakeland High School and has been attending Boise State University.

The groom is a graduate of Dexter High School in Michigan. Ian is a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, recently returned from his second deployment in Afghanistan and stationed in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

The newlyweds currently reside in Honolulu, Hawaii, with plans to attend Boise State University in the fall.

FIVE GENERATIONS

Five generations gathered for a Christmas celebration. Seated is Frank Alexander holding his great-great-granddaughter, Athena Coontz. Standing is, front left, great-grandfather Rick Alexander Sr., mother Chelsea Alexander and grandfather Rick Alexander Jr. All five generations reside in Post Falls.

BIRTHS

Aubree Faith Besser was born at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 8, 2012, to Jessica and Justin Besser of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21.75 inches long. Brothers are Mason, Dylan and Carsen. Maternal grandparents are Jodi and Eric Rawlins, and Mark Keeyy. Paternal grandparents are Danny and Renee Besser.

Carter Ray Prety was born at 10:44 a.m. Feb. 3, 2012, at Kootenai Medical Center to Paul and Ranita Prety of Rathdrum. He weighed 5 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. He will join his 2-year-old sister, Kendal Mae. Maternal grandparents are John and Bonnie Rember of Coeur d'Alene, and Donita and John Colis of Post Falls. Paternal grandparents are Paul and the late Sandi Prety of Rathdrum. He joins several nieces and nephews in the area.
