Coeur d'Alene architect added to Idaho Smart Growth board

Glen Lanker, a Coeur d'Alene architect and developer, has been named to the board of Idaho Smart Growth.

Idaho Smart Growth is a statewide nonprofit based in Boise that brings people together to create more desirable communities to live in.

Smart growth strives to have housing and transportation choices near jobs, shops and schools to support local economies and protect the environment.

Lutheran Academy of the Master to host Business After Hours

Business After Hours is scheduled 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lutheran Academy of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road.

Chamber members will have an opportunity to meet its faculty, staff, and students. More than 20 different businesses will be represented along with giveaways from each one. In honor of Mardi Gras, there will be Cajun food and drink, too.

Business After Hours is a networking event and opportunity for members to show off their offices or facilities. They are held on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages are provided by the sponsor business and there are drawings for door prizes.

Inland Forest Management, Inc. welcomes Bill Love to its staff

Longtime Idaho Department of Lands forester Bill Love recently joined the staff of Inland Forest Management, Inc., a Sandpoint consulting forestry company.

Love, who recently retired from the Idaho Department of Lands, previously worked with private forest landowners in Idaho in numerous capacities.

Love's responsibilities with IFM will include helping with all phases of forest landowner service and assisting with the company's Bonner and Boundary County wildland urban interface fire mitigation efforts.

Inland Forest Management is a 28-year-old company that provides a wide range of services to landowners including forest management plans, timber harvesting assistance, timber valuations and reforestation.

North Idaho Building Contractors Association receives awards

The North Idaho Building Contractors Association recently received two state awards from the Idaho Building Contractors Association.

The IBCA annual award for Company of the Year was presented to R.R. Bradley & Associates and Barb Bradley.

Bradley, a longtime member of NIBCA who was awarded Company of the Year at the local level for 2010 and 2011 was recognized by IBCA this past year for her accounting guidance and contributions related to a specific government affairs project with state-wide implications.

NIBCA's Executive Director Larry Jeffres took home IBCA's Associate of the Year award. In addition to his duties for NIBCA, Jeffres is the marketing director for R.C. Worst & Co. in Coeur d'Alene. His contributions to both local associations in combination with chairing IBCA's HomePac Committee and sitting on the Registered Master Builders Committee was taken into consideration in selecting Jeffres.

"We are very proud of Barb and Larry," said Angela Erickson, NIBCA's president. "They are representative of many NIBCA members that make our association one of the best in the state of Idaho."

NIBCA hold its monthly general membership meetings at the Best Western Coeur d'Alene Inn on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 5 p.m. with social hour. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be March 21.
