POST FALLS - The Post Falls City Council tonight is expected to approve a $10,000 agreement that will develop a plan for road and trail improvements in the city center.
The proposed consultant agreement with Verdis Corporation would provide cost estimates and conceptual drawings for landscaping and center median improvements along Spokane Street from Fourth to the Spokane River, safety improvements to the Centennial Trail in that area and a traffic signal at Spokane and Fourth.
A pedestrian pathway on the west side of Spokane Street from Fourth to the river would also be constructed.
The project is intended to increase traffic and pedestrian safety in the corridor, calm traffic and add visual improvements.
The cost for the consultant's services would be reimbursed by the Urban Renewal Agency.
The improvements are in the City Center Urban Renewal District plan.
The council will also hold a public hearing on fees for public records requests.
The first 100 copies are free and 5 cents thereafter.
The 2011 Idaho Legislature made revisions to the state's public records law that require updating such policies.
The regular meeting starts at 6 p.m. at 408 N. Spokane St.
The council will hold a joint workshop with the Planning and Zoning Commission at 5 p.m. in the parks and recreation conference room to discuss the zoning code.
