COEUR d'ALENE - Some visits from old friends end better than others.

Sometime Sunday night or Monday morning, two vehicles on the 2300 block of North Ninth Street, in Coeur d'Alene, were vandalized, a Coeur d'Alene police report said.

The reporting party told police she suspected a former friend of her son's.

A design was scratched into the hood of a red 2000 Chevy Blazer, and scratches were made along both sides and on the tailgate area of the rig.

The rear gate was scratched with the words "(Expletive) U All." A Nazi swastika was dug into the paint next to the message.

Another vehicle at the home, a black 1994 Chevrolet Suburban was also damaged, with scratches on both sides.

The rear gate of the Suburban was scratched with the words "(expletive) U." Again, a Nazi swastika was added.

The scratches were deep and through the paint, the police report said.

The woman's son told police his friend had been by to ask about being friends again.

The son said he wasn't interested because the former friend "was headed down a bad road and he didn't want to associate with him," the police report said.

The son said the former friend is allegedly "obsessed with the Nazi swastika," the report said.

"He does not believe there is any Aryan tie to the art, just an obsession by (the former friend)," the report said.

The total damage was estimated at $1,500.
