Although Thompson Falls beat Plains 43-38 in the consolation game of districts, the Trotters will be joining the Lady Hawks at divisonals thanks to a big win early in the week.

Earlier last week, Plains took on Troy for the remaining spot in the district tournament. With the season on the line, the Trotters stepped up big time with a dominating performance against the Lady Trojans. Plains won by a final of 41-15.

Kayla Revier led the attack with 14 points while teammate Felicia Earhart added ten points on the evening.

Plains followed up the victory with a road match against Bigfork to start the district tournament. The Lady Viking jumped out to and 18-2 lead against the Trotters and went on to win by a score of 43-19.

Felicia Earhart was the leading scorer for Plains as she posted five points on the evening.

In the 43-38 loss to Thompson Falls, Plains got off to a better start than in the previous matchup and played even through most of the contest. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Lady Hawks outscored Plains just enough to come up with the tight victory.

Logan Beckman had a big night for Thompson Falls as she scored 15 points. Kelsey Fitchett and Allison Vaught also had a productive night for the Lady Hawks as they combined for 24 points.

Felicia Earhart, Ashley Holmes and Nikki Kunzer each posted seven points to lead the Trotter attack.

Before facing Plains, Thompson Falls took on Eureka in their first game. Despite a game high 21 points from Kelsey Fitchett, Thompson Falls were unable to make a run down the stretch. Eureka won 46-36.

Both the Trotters and Lady Hawks will head to Hamilton later this week for the Divisional Tournament.

Red Devils headed to state after big winning streak

The true test of any basketball team is how well they perform under pressure with their backs against the wall. After coming off their first loss after one game, it would’ve been difficult to predict the run of success that would follow.  The Red Devils would play four more games after their loss to Ennis. They won them all and now the Red Devils are moving on to the State Tournament.
