GRAND COULEE – The body of a dead woman was found here last Sunday and, at last report, authorities had not released her identity.

A citizen found the dead body of an adult female in a vacant lot around 4 p.m. on Feb. 12. It appeared the body had been outside for some time, and was partially covered in snow.

The Grant County Coroner has custody of the body, and the identity will be released once confirmed and next of kin have been notified.

There  are no obvious signs of foul play, authorities said, but formal cause of death will be determined through an autopsy.
