A pair of California men arrested for allegedly transporting a 12-year-old Evergreen girl to their home state will arrive in Flathead County this weekend to face felony charges.

Edgard “Eddie” Le, 28, and Dennis Nelson, 37, agreed to be extradited, Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said the plans to bring them here were confirmed last week, but it has taken some time to organize the resources to pick them up.

Curry said his department is sending its own people to pick up Le and Nelson.

Le is facing a charge of custodial interference and Nelson is facing a charge of accountability to custodial interference.

They are accused of renting a car in San Diego and driving to Evergreen on Valentine’s Day to pick up Jasmine Walker. Walker reportedly had been in an online relationship with Le for about a month.

The car containing Le, Nelson and Walker eventually was stopped  by the FBI and the California Highway Patrol that evening in Victorville, Calif.

If convicted, Le and Nelson face up to 10 years in jail and fines of up to $50,000. In addition, federal charges may be filed in the case.

Flathead County Deputy Attorney Alison Howard, the prosecutor assigned to both cases, declined to say Thursday when any hearings would be held for either man.
