Virginia A. Cox, 83, resident Coeur d'Alene, passed away Feb. 20, 2012, at home after a recent diagnosis of ALS. She was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Noel and Mabel Rooker. Virginia married Robert E. Cox on Aug. 22, 1946, in Sioux City.
Robert and Virginia moved to California that same year and to Orange County, Calif., in 1949. They moved to Hayden in 1999 and Coeur d'Alene just last October. Virginia was a homemaker. Virginia enjoyed gardening and spoiling her cats and dogs.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Robert at home; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Steve Wesson of Hayden; one grandson, Dylan Cox-Wesson of McMinnville, Ore.; and a brother, Richard Rooker of Santa Ana, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary and a brother, James Rooker.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
